Magdalena Island, located in the Strait of Magellan, is just a little under an hour’s drive from Punta Arenas, Chile.

Home to the Magellan Penguin Natural Reserve, it is the breeding location for several bird species, but most notably, Magellan Penguins. There are currently nearly 100,000 pair of penguins inhabiting the reserve.

Visitors can view the penguins in their natural habitat.
