As I relaxed on my patio today, I watched this beautiful specimen perch itself high atop a tree. Consumed in its preening, it seemed unaffected by my presence.
The Great Egret is one of the most elegant species in the heron family. Its immaculate white plumage is such a stark contrast to its black legs and yellow beak. Truly a gift of nature.
