I recently returned from a 70 day “half world” cruise. Well, it wasn’t exactly half of the full 180-day world cruise that commenced in Miami back in July; but I like to think of it as such. My husband and I boarded the Oceania Insignia in Hong Kong in October, 2015, and remained on board for 70 days until the cruise ended in Miami on January 4, 2016. I would have loved to share my daily memoirs during the cruise, but the internet connection was intermittent and sometimes non-existent. I did however, keep a daily travel journal and will be sharing excerpts along with pictures over the next days. This trip was the most amazing experience of my life. I only hope that my writing and pictures can provide some sense of the excitement we experienced.
Arrival…Hong Kong! After 36-1/2 hours of traveling, from the time we left home to the time we were tucked into our cabin, we finally started our journey! Following are a few pictures of the area around the cruise terminal.
