I took a day trip to Chioggia during a recent trip to Venice.  The town of Chioggia is located on a small island at the southern entrance to the Venice Lagoon.

One can easily get lost in the local scene while visiting Chioggia…maybe a visit to Corso del Popolo, where stands are set up selling everything from locally grown produce to freshly caught fish; or maybe take in the spectacular views from one of many bridges crossing the canals.  After spending a day in this town, I believe Chioggia is truly a Gem in Northern Italy.
